I remember seeing this one on T.V. It was kind of a heartbreaker. Williams, a much bigger man, had hurt and floored Lee ( he fought then as "Curley Lee" ) earlier in the fight, aroung the fifth, I think. Lee survived the pounding and demonstrated great courage by fighting his way back into it. Just when it appeared that Curley was going to make the distance, Williams put him to sleep with a tremendous left hook to the jaw. As he was counted out Lee lay peacfully unconscious on his back with his right arm, crooked at the elbow, eerily tracing a circle in the air.

I saw DeNucci vs. Fernandez on T.V. when I was a kid. I remember that the Cuban knocked Denucci out with a terrific left hook to the head. Joe was counted out as he posed almost completely motionless in a strange "all fours" position supported on his kness and elbows. After all these years of watching boxing I still think that Florentino had the pound-for-pound most deadly left hook I ever saw. He was slow, couldn't box much and had a weak chin, and not much of a right, but boy could he get power on those left hooks!
