Klitschko had real difficulties with Brock at first in the fight, because of Brock's awkwardness and Klitschko's inability to reach him. After four rounds [[Harold Lederman]] had it even at 38-38. However, starting in the fifth round, Klitschko became more active and his jab became a factor and Brock became more flat-footed, leaving him easier to hit. Klitschko suffered a cut over the left eye from an unintentional headbutt in the sixth round. Brock was knocked down in the seventh round, and although he barely beat the count, Referee Kelly concluded he was in no condition to continue.

It was a close fight but Braddock earned the victory as he began dancing around Farr and scoring with his jab in later rounds. 

After Braddock beat Farr he became the number two contender for [[Joe Louis]]' heavyweight title, which Braddock lost to Louis a few months earlier. But Braddock knew it was time for him to get out of boxing while he's still on top of the game and hasn't suffered a serious injury yet. His wife & manager earged him to quit!!!

Braddock announced his retirement on February 2nd.
