It was my third professional bout and because my corner men were on their way but not present yet at time of weigh-in, my inexperience yielded to promotor Don Elbaum. I weighed in then Francisco Arroche weighed-in 6 (six) lbs. over our contract weight. I immediately expressed to Mr. Don Elbaum, &quot;He's (my opponent Francisco Arroche) got to lose some weight before we fight.&quot; Mr. Elbaum quickly pulled my aside and said, &quot;Don't worry about the weight, it'll look good for you to knock out a (jr.) middleweight.&quot; I complied. <br /> <br /> I was a puncher more than a boxer but Francisco Arroche was bigger and more experienced.
