Gerry Lott was drafted into the U.S. Army in 1968, 4 months after his last pro fight. Lott sustained shrapnel wounds to both legs in Vietnam ending his boxing career.&lt;br /&gt;
From 1991 to 1998 Lott was co-owner of Neutral Corner Boxing Gym in New Orleans with John Carmody of Australia.&lt;br /&gt;
After 21 years with the New Orleans Fire Department he retired to Boulder, CO.&lt;br /&gt;
