== Insert Fight Code ==

When creating a fight page, remember to add the "fight code" at the very top. The fight code is the fight number (which you can see at the top of any fight page) contained within "fight" code tags, like this: <nowiki><fight>12345</fight></nowiki>
Gains Another Draw in Bout With Rocky Luciano at T&C Show

Jimmy Moore, local middleweight, is becoming quite a crowd pleaser and show stealer in the weekly pro boxing bouts down at Wilmington. Paired last night with Rocky Luciano, of Harrisburg, Moore and his opponent staged a brawl which made the windup look like a pink tea. The verdict was a perfectly just draw. Thus for the second week in a row Moore had to be content with an even break but he also stole the show for the second straight week.

Moore and Luciano fought six of the hardest rounds of the summer in their semi-windup at the T. and C. Arena. They punished each other severely with vicious body attacks and speared each other continually at close range. But neither puncher could show to any great advantage and there was one vote-for each and one draw vote. There were no knockdowns in the 18 minutes of action. They maybe rematched in the near future.

The windup, which came as an anti-climax, found Dusty Brown, of York, taking a one-sided decision from Angelo Meola, of Baltimore, who had a five-pound pull in the weights at 144.

Hardwick weighed in at 155 pounds, Brown at 162. Cocoa was credited with 11 rounds to two for Brown and two even. The hometown boy was just not fast enough and did not hit hard enough to take the measure of Kid Cocoa.

The record books show Luciano started fighting in 1940 and he had about 55 fights in Pennsylvania, New York and Maryland before he went into the service in the Summer of 1943. KID COCOA DEFEATS BALTIMORE RINGMAN

Deacon Johnny Brown out pointed by Wide Margin Before Capacity Crowd

Baltimore, May 4

Deacon Johnny Brown of Baltimore lost a unanimous 15-round decision to Louis (Kid Coco) Hardwick of Hartford. Conn., before a packed house in Baltimore's Coliseum last night. Hardwick weighed in at 155 pounds, Brown at 162. Cocoa was credited with 11 rounds to two for Brown and two even. The hometown boy was just not fast enough and did not hit hard enough to take the measure of Kid Cocoa.

But by far the most interesting bout was the six-rounder following the main go. In a slam bang affair from start to finish, Rocky Luciano of Harrisburg, Pa., was given a booed decision over Kid Wolfe, negro middleweight of Washington, D. C.
