In the summer of 2005 Abel set off to Las Vegas, NV and had his training headed at Top Rank Boxing Gym. Abel started his career fast moving to 3-0. <br />

In December of 2005 Abel found himself at odds with his management. After Abel's attempts to reconcile were dismissed, he suffered further issues with family and injury that forced him into over a year long lay off. In that time Abel centered his life in areas of faith and family.<br />

Abel moved to Portland, Oregon in February of 2006 and had his training headed at Grand Avenue Boxing Gym. With all things in place, Abel made his return to the ring in impressive fashion via a win over Jess Salway (2-3-1)in January of 2007.
