It was a close fight but Braddock earned the victory as he began dancing around Farr and scoring with his jab in later rounds, especially in the final 2 rounds. 

After Braddock beat Farr he became the number two contender for [[Joe Louis]]' heavyweight title, which Braddock lost to Louis a few months earlier. But Braddock knew it was time for him to get out of boxing while he's still on top of the game and hasn't suffered a serious injury yet.

Due to urging of his wife, Braddock announced his retirement on February 1st.

He was 50 years old.... It's a shame only some people can edit here, so many mistakes, including mike tyson's height and others.
