This was a close fight and the decision could have gone either way. Roy Jones came on strong in the later rounds to earn a majority decision, but he took more punishment in this fight than in any of his previous battles.

He had a point deducted after the second infraction. As Castillo moved in to finish off Corrales, the always-dangerous Corrales landed a huge left hook that staggered Castillo. Corrales quickly followed up with a flurry of hard punches causing referee Tony Weeks to stop the fight. Both fighters took a tremendous amount of punishment in what is already considered a boxing classic.

Castillo Failed to make weight, and a member of his team was fined and suspended for tampering with the scale. The fight was spectacular, with both fighters landing big shots. Castillo ended matters with a stunning left hook early in the fourth round. Corrales got up on wobbly legs just as referee Joe Cortes reached the ten count.

Very competitive fight despite the scoring. Gatti controlled the action with superior handspeed and technique, but Damgaard fought well and landed several good shots throughout the fight. Gatti's punching power eventually forced the extremely tough Damgaard to take a knee, and the fight was rightfully halted.
