Vitali Klitschko (Ukrainian: Кличко Віталій Володимирович), is a former WBC Heavyweight Champion.

Klitschko announced his retirement on November 9, 2005, after undergoing knee surgery which postponed his scheduled November 12, 2005 WBC Heavyweight title defense against Hasim Rahman. Klitschko had been plagued by injuries in 2005, having had to cancel two other previous bouts with Rahman due to thigh and back problems. Following his third postponment, Klitschko had been given an ultimatum by the WBC to face Rahman within 60 days, or have his title awarded to Rahman, who is the interim champion. However, Klitschko is expected to have a recovery time of six months due to the knee surgery on his ligament.

Political Aspirations
Klitschko has expressed a desire to enter politics in his native country Ukraine. He ran for mayor of Kiev and parliament in the Ukranian elections on March 26, 2006. Klitschko is a supporter of current Ukranian president Viktor Yushchenko and his party, Our Ukraine, and was seen at Yuschenko's side during the 2004 Orange Revolution, which ultimately resulted in Yuschenko's election as president. Preliminary results indicate that Klitschko received 22% of the vote for mayor in the election; placing him in a tie for 2nd with incumbent mayor Oleksandr Omelchenko, but trailing lawmaker Leonid Chernovetskiy, who received 30%. Klitschko's aspirations for parliament also appear to have come up unsuccesful as well, as his party appeared to have recieved less than the 3%, necessary to earn representation in the new parliament.

Boxing Career
Eddie Futch boxed out of Detroit as an amateur, winning the Detroit Athletic Association Championship (1932) and the Detroit Golden Gloves (1933) as a lightweight. He was prevented from entering the professional ranks due to a heart murmur. He was a stablemate and sparring partner of highly-rated welterweight and middleweight Holman Williams, and future world heavyweight champion Joe Louis, before leaving the sport for over a decade.

Trainer of Champions
Futch re-emerged as a trainer of amateur and professionals in the 1950s. He guided his first pupil, Don Jordan, to the world welterweight championship in 1958. Ultimately, he trained 21 world champions before retiring in 1998. He proclaimed Joe Frazier as his favorite fighter.
*Elected to the International Boxing Hall of Fame as a trainer in 1992.
*Goldman is also a member of the International Jewish Sports Hall of Fame.
*As a trainer he helped develop Lou Ambers, Marty Servo, and Joey Archibald--champions all. But his most notable training feat was helping to turn Rocky Marciano into a championship fighter.
*Goldman was also quite a boxer in his own right--he grew up fighting in the Red Hook section of Brooklyn, having between 300 and 400 fights in his career. Many of these matches went unrecorded. His official record per the 1965 Ring Record Book reads 137 total bouts with 20 KOs, 16 wins by decision, 11 draws and 6 losses, 2 of the losses by KO, and 84 fights were of the no decision variety.

<br clear=all>
George Benton was born in 1933, one of eleven children. He grew up in Philadelphia and as a teenager discovered boxing. He turned pro at the age of 16, and by the 1950s and '60s was a top-rated middleweight contender known for his classic boxing skills. He posted wins over the likes of Joey Giardello and Jimmy Ellis. He retired in 1970.

Benton then turned his attention to training. He studied under Eddie Futch and was in Joe Frazier's corner for "The Thrilla in Manilla." He also orchestrated the strategy of Leon Spinks's upset of Muhammad Ali.

Known for his quiet demeanor, the "Professor" has imparted his boxing knowledge to such fighters as Evander Holyfield, Leon Spinks, Mike McCallum, Pernell Whitaker, Meldrick Taylor, Rocky Lockridge, and Johnny Bumphus, among others.

For 17 years, Benton worked together with Lou Duva and Main Events as the head trainer for many of their fighters. In both 1989 and 1990, he was awarded with the John FX Condon Award for "Trainer of the Year" by the Boxing Writers' Association of America.

Benton was inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame for his work as a trainer.

Ignacio "Nacho" Beristain" is a Mexico City based boxing trainer and manager, who is considered by many to be Mexico's top trainer. He currently is the trainer of the Marquez brothers; Juan Manuel and Rafael, who hold world titles at Featherweight and Bantamweight, respectively.

Beristain's first world champion was longtime Bantamweight and Super Bantamweight champion Daniel Zaragoza. Beristain also guided Gilberto Roman to the WBC Super Flyweight title. In the 1990s, Beristain handled the highly regarded Strawweight and Light Flyweight champion Ricardo Lopez.

Beristain's boxers have acquired a reputation over time, for their technical skills in the ring. However, he has been criticized by boxing writers, such as Dan Rafael and Steve Kim, for his cautious handling of the Marquez brothers, and failing to get them signficant fights in recent years.
Sadler is best known as the trainer and manager of World Heavyweight Champion George Foreman during the first half of his career in the 1970s. He also trained World Junior Middleweight champion Freddie Little.

In an early 1980s column by Los Angeles Times sports columnist Jim Murray, which was syndicated throughout the United States, Sadler claimed to have rode the rails out to the West Coast during the mid-30s. While there his train stopped in Spokane, and he first started working with fighters. Sadler would tell Murray that the first fighter he worked with was Tiger Jack Fox.

It should be noted that research of the Spokane newspaper, the Spokesman-Review, has not uncovered any mention of Sadler working with Fox in Spokane. Fox's trainer during the 1930s was Billy Nelson.

In 1970, the Boxing Writer's Assocation of America awarded Sadler the Al Buck Award, for manager of the year.
