&lt;div&gt;I am writing to correct misinformation on BoxRec regarding the boxer, Tommy Martin.  He was born in London, England (not the US Virgin Islands) and moved to the U.S. Virgin Islands in 1952 -- after WWII, after serving in the RAF, the Merchant Marines and ultimately in the US Marine Corps.  He became and American citizen, married Norma Blue in NYC and moved to the USVI with his wife and two daughters.  Two other daughters were born while in the islands.  &lt;br /&gt;
Prior to WWII, Tommy Martin held the light heavyweight championship for the British Isles; he was not allowed to fight for the heavyweight championship because of the color bar.&lt;/div&gt;</summary>
