* Undefeated heavyweight prospect Charles Martin wins the vacant International Boxing Federation World Heavyweight title.

* Not much happened in the first two rounds of the fight, which the judges scored evenly. In the third round, Glazkov went down twice while throwing punches. The first was ruled a slip by referee Albert Earl Brown, but it appeared Glazkov was injured in the fall. Shortly after the bout resumed, Glazkov appeared to further injure his knee after landing a body shot on Martin. Glazkov went down backwards as the right leg gave way, and rolled over face first, his right knee shot. Referee Albert Earl Brown ruled it a knockdown, though Martin had not landed a punch. Glazkov beat the count, but was unable to continue. The brief vacant world title bout was over and Martin was crowned IBF World Heavyweight Champion. Glazkov was later diagnosed with a completely torn ACL, a dislocated knee, a torn medial meniscus and sprains of his MCL and LCL.
