<fight>1390649</fight>

From a New Zealand perspective this was an interesting fight. There was the young up-and-comer in Cameron, who had fought regionally well ranked fighters, but no world class fighters. His one previous loss was to Friday Ahunanya, who opened up cuts on Cameron, and then KO'd him in the 12th.

Tua on the other hand was a known commodity, but there were doubts as to whether he could manage his weight, anmd whether he was able to perform AND last the rounds.

Both fighters came into the ring well conditioned, with Tua especially lean (for him at least) at 237pounds.

Cameron was knocked down twice in round one. After the second knockdown, Tua landed a left hook to the rib cage and a right to the head of Cameron while Cameron was on the canvas. Referee McTavish counted over Cameron as a knockdown. Cameron beat the count, and then the referee called a timeout near the end of the round, and seemed to be checking with officials at ringside, but no disqualification was called, and the bell was sounded ending the round. In round two, the referee stopped the fight twenty seconds in, as Tua landed several hooks to the head of a defenseless Cameron on the ropes that left him slumped on the canvas, knocked out. This bout can be seen in its entirety on Youtube.

So the result answered some questions, but not all. The first - Cameron will be exposed at Heavyweight, when fighting good top 50 fighters. He has a suspect jaw, and although punches hard, is not going to close out bouts against the big boys with KO's. Cruiserweight is where he's heading.

Tua was explosive, accurate and deadly. BUT, we only saw him for 3m20s. The fight was so one-sided and quick, questions about Tua remain answered.
