He Boxed for the U.S.A Boxing Team from 1982-84 while living in Colorado Springs at the Olympic Trianing Center. He was the first athlete to take part in &amp;quot;Operation Gold&amp;quot; Lesperance was the United States National ABF Champion in 1982, at 106 pounds. He was the runner up at The 1984 Western Olympic Trials at 119 pounds. &lt;br /&gt;
