Toney came across the ring in the first round and knocked down Delgado with the very first punch he threw (a left hook). He would go down once more in the first after this knockdown.
In round 3, Delgado decided to kick Toney after the referee broke them up from a clinch.
Delgado was down again in the fourth from a right hand.
Another knockdown in round five caused the referee to stop the bout.
