Notes
Betting Underdog Michael Bennt dropped Tommy Morrison three times en route to scoring a 1st round TKO. Morrison was set to fight Lennox Lewis in December of 1993 and the fight with Bentt was supposed to be a tune up for him. Morrison started off strong, trapping Bentt in the ropes and knocking him off balance with a well placed flurry, but was caught off guard with a sudden straight to chin. Morrison was shaken by the blow and kneeled after a barrage of fast punches to the head. This loss derailed Morrison's fight with Lennox Lewis, though the match did end up occurring over 2 years later. Michael Bentt's purse was $135,000.
Rooney who had generally fought at welterweight in his career up to that point, was knocked out in the 2nd round. Rooney was the trainer of World Heavyweight Champion Mike Tyson from the start of his professional career in 1985, up until Tyson's bout with Michael Spinks in 1988. It has been the viewpoint of most boxing observers, that Tyson's skills began to decline with his firing of Rooney after his bout with Spinks. Tyson began to alter his training approach, focusing more on weight training and becoming more stationary, with less bobbing and head movement than in his earlier career.

Rooney has continued to train fighters, working most notably with Vinny Pazienza.
*After the second round, Golota got off his stool and began to walk around his corner refusing to fight another round. The referee had no choice but to award the fight to Tyson.
*Golota was pelted with garbage and drinks as he was rushed to his dressing room.
*Golota, although behind on the scorecards, he was very much into the fight but retired on his stool saying "I quit" to the cornerman, who acted in disbelief. Later it is revealed that Golota had a broken bone in his head, which could have pierced his brain, should the fight have continued. Golota claimed in the dressing room that Tyson was headbutting him all the time during the fight, but the referee did not warn Tyson.
*After the bout, Tyson tested positive for marijuana, which led the commission to change the result from a technical knockout to no contest.
*Golota would not fight again for 3 years after this controversial match.
