== What a boring and useless place you're making the fight pages into ==

Honestly, what a waste of time this place is. Reducing fight commentary down to the facts makes this a useless resource. You could have the most exciting fight of the year and not have a single comment on it because
a) there were no knockdowns
b) no points deducted
c) even the word 'exciting' is colouring the fight and purely subjective and
d) the PPV numbers are unknown.
If you follow these principles then every Butterbean fight would have more commentary than an epic Barrera vs Morales war.

Sure you can bury the fight commentary down in the 'talk' page, but who's going to find it. The link is from boxrec, and it links to the main page. And what are they going to find as a comment, if they want more info on the fight, N-O-T-H-I-N-G. (And BTW for the next user, give him a break and call it the 'Discussion' page, because thats how its labelled).

Boxing is opinionated. This should be reflected in the descriptions. This database would be better served as a loose collection of fight reviews than an punctuation freak's paradise. I cant believe the editting/punctuation tip at the beginning. I did this with the honest belief that this was a legitimate web site based on documented fights from legitimate professional boxers.

Young Maxie Rosenbloom was a legitimate fighter in the thirties. The negative comments you reverted to were only on the Boxing Rec. web site because I posted the associated newspaper articles from which they originated as they were quoted by reporters in the 1930's. I did this with the honest belief that this was a legitimate web site based on documented fights from legitimate professional boxers. The comments you made were based on a Stars and Stripes article written about him. I do not know where they recieved their information, but thus far there is no evidence that Young Maxie Rosenbloom fought Barney Ross or Tony Canzonerio in a professional bout. Please remember that these young boxers grew up together, and if Young Maxie claimed he fought them...it may have been very early on in the careers, if at all. I don't think that there is really any need to disparage the man however, He is my Dad, and although I was very young when he died, he is still a legend to me. I have edited his bio once again by placing some positive comments about him made by the press.

Al Manrico and Lou Duran scored knockouts over their opponents last night at 40 & 8 Arena in the two scheduled 10-round bouts. The diminutive Manrico stayed on Maxie Rosenbloom's trail, until early in the third when he uncorked a right uppercut which sent young Maxie to the mat for a count of 10. Maxie was on the retreat throughout the short match, but until his final fall managed to slash across numerous jarring punches. Manrico's crouching style puzzled Rosenbloom, who was caught off guard twice in the second round, going down once before a right overhand for a count of nine and again for three, the bell ending the round. In the third Manrico came out for the finish, bewildered Maxie with his elusive weaving, and finally landed the final punch. ''– BY HOYT E. HAGER, JR. The Corpus Christi Times. New faces to Corpus Christi boxing fans will be featured tonight at the 40&8 Arena when Promoter Fred Lutz presents his second show of the new year. Lou Duran of San Antonio and Huey Long of Houston are carded
in the main event—a 10-round affray. Duran appeared before, knocking out Perry Brewer in five rounds. He later defeated Battling Johnson after six rounds. He wins roost battles by the knockout method- His opponent, Long, has run r o u g h l y through competition around Houston, Dallas, and New Orleans where he acquired a reputation of rough and fast fighting, as his last five knockouts will attest He outweighs Duran and is younger, but the San Antonio battler is a veteran of many wars who will match his wits and power against the speedier youngster. Young Maxie Rosenbloom of New York has copied the style of the former champion who bears the same name, and developed into a flashy fighter. He is to tangle with Al Manrico of Houston in a 10-roundcr. The two fought a bout recently at Houston when Promoter Lutz was visiting there. At that time he signed the two scrappers for an appearance in Corpus Christi.'' – The Corpus Christi Times. Corpus Christi, Texas, Evening Edition, January 26, 1938''
== Manrico and Lou Duran Win By Knockouts
Rosenbloom And Long Fall Before Pair ==
Promoter Phil Flake has come out of hibernation with the news his next fight show is to be held Wednesday. Flake believes he has a real battle lined up for his remain event, in one corner will be Sammy Musco, the tough lad who took Ralph Vitela in his only appearance here, and in the other will be Young Maxie Rosenbloom. Maxie says he's a cousin of Maxie Slapsie Rosenbloom, and in fact he is the paint-sized edition of the playboy-puncher. ''-Albert Reese, The Galveston Daily News, Thursday, January 13, 1938''
Ralph Vitela to Meet Rao in Semi-Windup; Baby Jack on Card
A 82-round boxing card that bristles with pleasing performers will be Promoter Phil Flake's next fistic offering to Galveston fans. Wednesday night it the scheduled date and the city auditorium will be the scene of hostilities.
Sammy Musco, 130-pound Italian, will pit his ring craft and punching power against young Maxie Rosenbloom in the ten-round main event. Rosenbloom, although a newcomer to these parts, brings an enviable record that shows he has boxed some of the best boys in the business and headlined in many of the nation's largest clubs. He is a Jewish lad who resembles be original Maxie Rosenbloom. His high percentage of knockouts indicates he is a terrific puncher.
Musco, who came here from Omaha recently, has been having things very much his own way. He decisioned Ralph Vitola here, Al Manrico in Houston and flattened Neno Falzone at the latter place. Sammy is one of the niftiest boxers ever to show here and a one of the few ringmen who can hit along with his speed. ''- Galveston Daily News, Thursday, January 16, 1938''
