Biography
From Joshua's Official website:

Anthony grew up in Watford and moved to the capital when he was 17. A year later he was introduced to boxing by his cousin, who took him along to the Finchley ABC to start training.

Being a naturally gifted sportsman, Anthony played football at a high level and, with the stamina and speed he possessed, he could regularly run the 100m in less than 11 seconds. However, boxing was his passion and Anthony quickly rose through the ranks.

He became Senior ABAE Champion at 91+kg in May 2010 and was added to GB Boxing’s Development Squad. In November that year he became Champion of Great Britain, defeating Amin Isa.

In 2011, Anthony retained his ABAE title and reached the quarterfinals of the European Championships, as well as defeating the Olympic and two-time World Champion Roberto Cammarelle in the quarterfinals of the World Championships. Anthony went on to win a silver medal, securing him qualification for London 2012.

One of the shining lights from one of the most successful Olympics in the modern era, Anthony defied the odds during the final round of the super heavyweight boxing final, where he turned around a three-point deficit to claim the gold medal for Team GB.

He was appointed Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) in the 2013 New Years Honours for services to boxing.

Anthony made his professional debut on the 5th October 2013 in front of a capacity crowd at the O2 Arena in London, beating the Italian Emanuele Leo by technical knockout in the first round.

Legal Troubles
*On May 4, 2013, Wilder was arrested in Las Vegas for domestic battery by strangulation, which is a Class B or Class C felony. The female victim had swollen eyebrows, a possibly broken nose, a cut lip, and red marks on her neck, according to officers. She was taken to University Medical Center of Southern Nevada and treated for her injuries. Wilder's attorney said, "Deontay instinctively acted under the false impression that someone was stealing from him. That wasn't the case. He regrets his actions. He is extremely regretful because this is not consistent with his reputation. He and the victim have spoken about this and the victim has accepted his apology. We hope this matter will be brought to a resolution soon". According to Clark County, Nevada records, Wilder was cleared in the matter.
*Dominic Breazeale filed a lawsuit against Wilder following an altercation in the lobby of the Westin Hotel in Birmingham, Alabama on February 25, 2017. In his suit, Breazeale says he was with his wife and kids (ages 5 and 8) when Deontay and his brother, Marcellus, attacked him out of nowhere ... throwing punches, spitting, and cussing like crazy people. Breazeale says his wife begged the Wilders to stop fighting in front of the children to which Deontay replied, "F*ck your kids". Breazeale says not only was he assaulted and injured in the brawl, but his kids are emotionally scarred by the incident. Breazeale says his younger child is afraid for his father's life and repeatedly asked if Deontay and Marcellus are going to kill him. The lawsuit was eventually dismissed.
*Wilder was arrested on June 14, 2017 and charged with possession of marijuana in his hometown of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, which is a Class A misdemeanor. Reports confirmed that the drug was found in his car after he had been pulled over for a window tint violation. His attorney claimed the marijuana was not his and someone had used his car while he was out of town. On January 11, 2018, Wilder was found guilty of misdemeanor marijuana possession and received a 30-day suspended sentence and two years of probation. He was also ordered to perform 60 hours of community service at a local YMCA.

At 11, Gorman already weighed 70kg (almost 11 stone) and was a fully fledged 95 kilo (15 stone) super heavyweight at just 15. Gorman spent eight years as an amateur and had only 12 fights, winning 11, and four of those were internationals. Gorman won the Youth ABA's, Three Nations and got to the GB set-up. He got to the semi finals of the World Youth Championships but had to withdraw due to a damaged jaw.
