I reverted the Tommy Burns page to fix this, not necessarily to delete the CBF champion category. (But, anyway, the CBF did not exist when Burns was champion, did it? mI thought you wrote it came into being in 1925.) --[[User:Ric|Ric]] 13:28, 15 July 2008 (UTC)

I understand. I'm investigating why my edit would have left these weird characters. With regard to the CBF, you are correct that it only came in existence in 1925, but one of its first official decrees was to recognize all previous Canadian champions as CBF champions in order to preserve the lineage (turns out that wasn't exactly a necessity as the Canadian title lost a lot of its prestige in the following decades, before being "brought back to life" by the recent Canadian boxing revival). I included this because it was in the BoxRec database. I have no information as to whether it is an actual NABO title fight or not. It did seem odd. I think that the information in the encyclopedia and in the BoxRec database should match. If it is not an actual title fight it should be changed in the database and likewise on the NABO title fights page. == Name and records of the fighters in the wiki ==
Certainly you can go back to the fighter's page and see their their current record or their record at the time of the fight. It simply keeps you from having to click back from page to page to find out. Too, boxrec does not list their total knockouts at the time and the only way to calculate this would be to count them. For instance, how many KOs did Jack Dempsey have when he fought Bill Brennan? Without counting them, that data is not available. It's simply a shortcut. Honestly, I really think that this information should appear when entering the fight code on wiki. Whereas now the two fighters' weights appear, it would seem more pertinent for the two fighters records with KOs to automatically be entered.

I today revisited the ''Seattle Times'' and ''Seattle Post-Intelligencer'' newspapers, to confirm whether Doc Snell had won the Canadian Bantamweight Title with [[Vic Foley vs. Doc Snell (3rd meeting)|this bout]] with Foley. Snell did not, because both were over-weight. (The ''Seattle Times'' implied that Snell would have won the title if both had made weight.) So, I have edited that bout. I did this for easy access. The pages for all groups are not always updated. This way any editor can view a page and quickly see if the current champions are actually current. Then if he or she has the time they could quickly update the page as the link with the necessary information is on the same page. Also this shows the Total History on one page rather than having to click and view each weight class Some others, like the USBA, United States Boxing Association, do not have a grid with CURRENT TITLE HOLDERS so the link would be helpful for yourself or anyone who creat a Grid for that group like the one that already exist for the NABA--- thanks Journeymen

I didn't delete content. I left the information about Ranzany making his sixth title defense, and I left the link to the NABF BoxRec page. I added information. I added their WBC rankings going into the fight, the amount of the purses, and a link to a newspaper account of the fight, which you deleted. As for referencing title fights in a certain way, is there a certain way they are supposed to be referenced? I noticed that Leonard's world title fights weren't all referenced the same way. Stitch had Rodriguez in trouble in the second and third rounds. He backed Rodriguez into a corner and hammered him with lefts and rights to the body and head. In the fifth round, Rodriguez jolted Stitch with three hard lefts. He broke through his opponent's guard with a staccato of head and body blows.
