In the sixth and final round, Resendiz badly hurt Pagan and went for the knockout as Pagan looked to hold on. Suddenly, a Pagan fan jumped onto the ring apron and took a swing at Resendiz. The referee, who should've immediately disqualified Pagan, instead called for time and sent both boxers to neutral corners.

As an Italian-American nicknamed "Goodfella" and his ring entrance attire including a traditional suit top, it's understandable that many would assume his moniker is referencing a traditional Italian mobster. Perrella's nickname however has a much more literal and personal meaning. A soft spoken, down to earth and respectful fighter who strives to make a difference in his hometown of Fort Myers, Florida, Perrella lives a clean life and is literally known as a good fellow.

In 2016, Perrella started "Goodfella's Great Students," a program where he gives back to students excelling academically.
The scoring of the bout, which took place in Hernandez Harrison's hometown of Washington, DC and was decided by three local judges as well as a local referee, is widely recognized as highly controversial. Dallas got off to a good start took the fight to Harrison, scoring a clean knockdown in fifth round while Hernandez Harrison rallied late. In the eighth round, Hernandez Harrison was credited with a knockdown that appeared to be a low blow. He also landed punches on the break and loaded up to intentionally hit Dallas with a clean shot after the referee called for a break, but a point was not deducted.
In the sixth round, Pettway landed a vicious counter left hook that sent Brown to the canvas hard. When he was down, Brown was literally throwing punches at the air while his back was on the ground. This is regarded as one of the most unique knockouts in boxing history and has been viewed tens of millions of times on the internet.
