Angelo Veneziano (sometimes reported as "Angelo Venizona") died the next day of a fractured skull after a March 3, 1911 bout with William Kennedy (Young Packey Hommey) at New Jersey, USA. [1] [2]

Although some believed he had received the injury during the bout, ringside observers testified that the bout was relatively tame. After his fight, Veneziano stood on a bench with friends to watch the other bouts, then apparently fainted and fell backwards hitting his head. That was likely when he fractured his skull, not during the bout.
