"Oversized Carl "Bobo" Olson, 187, looked like something of his old self last night in clubbing out a 10 round split decision over Joey Maxim, 188 1/2, of Cleveland, Ohio. The extra weight did not seem to bother Olson. He swarmed over the clever Maxim, former light heavyweight champ, from opening bell to the end. And although he never had his opponent in trouble, he seemed to have things well in hand all the way. Olson relied mainly on a slashing body attack to slow up Maxim. He took command in the 1st round with several flurries to Maxim's body. Maxim's best rounds were the 2nd and 4th. In the 2nd his left jab raised a welt over Olson's right eye. But Olson was able to prevent further damage." -Associated Press
