Chris Lighty was the manager of Ronald (Winky) Wright and the CEO of Winky Promotions.

Lighty was best known for his work in the music industry. Mariah Carey, Busta Rhymes, Sean "Diddy" Combs, Missy Elliott, LL Cool J, A Tribe Called Quest and 50 cent were among the artists he represented through his management company, Violator.

On August 30, 2012, Lighty died from a gunshot wound to the head at his home in the Bronx. He was 44 years old. His death was ruled a suicide, but some believe foul play was involved and have called for authorities to reopen the case.
