Chucho Castillo beat Miguel Castro by TKO at 2:02 in round 6 of 12
- Date: 1967-11-26
- Location: Plaza de Toros, Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua, Mexico
- Referee: Young Amado
"Some 7,000 rain-drenched fans yelled as Miguel Castro, Mexico's top-ranked bantam, landed a flurry of hard blows and appeared to have the Mexican championship within reach. But Chucho Castillo lived up to form and retained his crown with a 6th round TKO which left the challenger groggy and beaten. Castro threw long-range bombs with both fists and had the crowd on it's feet. His left jab was also effective. But in the 5th round, matters changed suddenly as Castillo opened a cut on Caastro's left eyelid. The champ had Castro pinned in a corner as the round ended. After 2:02 of the 6th, the referee called a halt. Blood was flowing from the challenger's eye and he appeared ready to go down." -El Paso Herald-Post

- "Miguel Castro is one of the toughest fighters in Mexico. Castro is strong and he hits hard, but he gave me no particular trouble. I wasn't worried, even though he looked sharp in the opening rounds." -Chucho Castillo
