"Eddie (Bossman) Jones, Los Angeles, came to life in the latter stages of his 10 round fight with Eddie Porett, Las Vegas, to score a unanimous decision in the Strip Fight of the Week feature last night at the Silver Slipper. Jones, former No. 1 contender for the 175 pound title, showed his experience and punching power in the latter rounds to gain the verdict. After a fairly fast start, Porett showed to advantage in rounds three and four. However, Jones took over starting the 6th round and was in complete command the rest of the way.
