"Middleweight champion Carl (Bobo) Olson shot over a right to the jaw to drop Joe Rindone of Roxbury, Mass., for the full count in the 5th round of their scheduled 10 round nationally televised non-title fight tonight. The end came at 2:04 of the round. The city's Winterland Arena was nearly packed to its 8,100 capacity. Olson carried the fight and shook Rindone with a left hook to the chin just before the bell of the 4th. In the 5th blood streamed from Rindone's nose. He wobbled on unsteady legs. Olson landed a solid right to the jaw and Rindone plunged face forward to the canvas. The referee tolled the full count although Rindone was not knocked cold." -Associated Press
