Summary
Diaz destroys Polo!
By Ludo Saenz
Lightweight contender David Diaz (now 29-1, 16 KOs) had no mercy Saturday night at the Savvis Center in St. Louis, Missouri. Simply put, Diaz annihilated former world champ Juan Polo Perez with a restless attack at 2:07 of the third round. Diaz, who looked sharp against the aging Polo-Perez, hammered his Colombian foe with a left hook to the rib cage and then finished matters with well place right-left combos to the top. Polo visited the canvas four times, two in the second and two in the third. The final blow was a perfect uppercut. "I felt tense in the first round and his style was a little difficult at first, but I was finally able to open my attack," said Diaz to Fightnews.com. Polo dropped his record to 46-40-4 (23 KOs).
