Notes
- Zepeda was stunned by a punch in round three, and backed onto the ropes. Castaneda then let loose with a sustained, unanswered flurry of punches, lasting perhaps as long as thirty to forty seconds. Finally, in the midst of this flurry, Zepeda at last dropped to one knee, but rose and the fight continued.
- Castaneda again backed him onto the ropes, and Zepeda again fell to one knee shortly thereafter. At that point, referee Jon Schorle called a halt to the bout.
