Hans Jorgen Jacobsen beat Rudolph Vaughan by TKO in round 5 of 8

  • Date: 1968-09-12
  • Location: Idraetsparken, Copenhagen, Denmark
  • Referee: Ejner Roth

Danish heavyweight Hans Jorgen Jacobsen gained revenge for a KO loss in June when he stopped Rudolph Vaughan of Great Britain in the 5th round. Vaughan had a fine start with dancing and jabbing. In the 4th it was apparent that he was not in superb condition. He had to kneel for an 8 count just to get back some breath. 3 left hooks and a right hook from the Dane in the 5th floored Vaughan. He got up and clung desperately to Jacobsen. Jacobsen then chased him around the ring until the referee halted the fight.

Main event of the evening was the Lothar Stengel vs. Tom Bogs for the European light heavyweight title. 12.000 attended in the open air arena Idraetsparken in Copenhagen.
