- Date: 1958-11-30

- Judge: Carl Beers 96-99
- Judge: Jose Guerra 95-98
"Al Zuany was hurt badly once - by a rocking left to the mid-section in the 3rd - and was set back by several solid, clean blows right smack on the chin. But the 22 year old kid shrugged them off and came back to pile up points and a unanimous victory before some 5,000 spectators in Plaza Monumental. It was a close battle from the start. Zuany started fast while Baker, 32, conserved his strength. At the finish, Baker was strong and Zuany pooped but the local had piled up enough points to win. Baker was a hard man to hit. Zuany was never able to get off his best blow - a left hook - but got in many nice jabs and right hooks to the head. There were no knockdowns." -El Paso Herald-Post
