Echegaray down twice in round 13, once for an eight count and once a slip.
"Ben Villaflor salvaged his WBA world junior lightweight championship Tuesday night by hanging on for a 15-round draw with Argentina's Victor Echegaray at the Honolulu International Center. Echegaray fought a back-pedaling, counter-punching fight all the way. He kept his left perpetually in the young Filipino's eye which was closed by the end of the 5th round. The only knockdown came in the 13th round when Villaflor finally caught up with Echegaray and dumped him with a chopping right to the chin. The Argentinian stayed down for a few seconds and took the mandatory eight-count but was back swinging as the round ended. The champion finished the fight with his left eye completely closed, his right eye battered and his nose cut while the challenger was unmarked." -United Press International
