"Christmas arrived two weeks early today for Carl (Bobo) Olson, who not only was presented with a draw against Hank Casey last night but also got to keep some purse money for a change. The tax-harassed Olson, seeking his 5th straight win, made Casey wince from a left hook to the body during a fast first round. But then Hank apparently took charge for the next seven heats. Casey frequently scored with counter-punches to the head and body. Olson, 35, went all out in the final two rounds in a bid to flatten his 29-year-old opponent. Casey, however, parried most of Olson's efforts during the final round and landed three straight rights to Bobo's head." United Press international

Post-fight comments
- "I'm disappointed with my fight but I have no quarrel with the decision. I think I trained too hard for the last couple of days and left it all in the gym." -Bobo Olson
- "I went for a few of his fakes. It didn't cost me, but I couldn't get him with my big guns. But I can see why he was a champion. That old guy's still got a lot of kick to him." -Hank Casey
