- Rhode was knocked down three times.
- Morrison was diagnosed as being HIV positive earlier this year. Because of such, this bout was fought under some unorthodox rules, including the condition that if either fighter was to suffer a cut, the bout would be stopped and it would go to the scorecards. This was perhaps the only professional bout in history involving an HIV positive boxer. Morrison retired for good shortly thereafter.
