Notes

  • Canadian title had been vacated by Dave Hilton Jr. in February 1985. The Canadian Boxing Federation had stripped Hilton's brother - Alex Hilton - of his Canadian Middleweight title on January 30, 1985 for failure to defend. In a show of family solidarity, Dave vacated his Welterweight title.
  • Chavez Guerrero penalized one point in round 8 for continually stepping on Anderson's foot.
  • Chavez Guerrero down in round 8 from a left hand to the jaw. Although he easily beat the count, he remains on unsteady legs and the referee calls a halt to the bout.
