"The unheralded Filipino lightweight Curly Aguirre, 136 1/4, scored a spectacular one-round KO over Venezuela's Carlos (Morocho) Hernandez, 136 3/4, before a sellout house in the Nuevo Circo Stadium. At the opening gong Aguirre surprised Hernandez with a two-fisted volley that drove the Venezuelan to the ropes. A short right to the jaw proved decisive. It dropped Carlos.
