Davey Moore 130 lbs beat Fili Nava 129 lbs by UD in round 10 of 10
- Date: 1962-12-11
- Location: Municipal Auditorium, San Antonio, Texas, USA
- Moore was already signed to defend his featherweight title against Sugar Ramos in February going into this match.
- "I guess in a way you'd have to say he won since it was obvious he was just there to stay 10 rounds and he did that. I wanted to nail him early but along about the 5th I got tired of chasing him and decided it wouldn't be too bad to get in 10 rounds of exercise." -Davey Moore
"Fili Nava ran for his life and won the race but Davey Moore won a 10 round decision Tuesday night in the featured match at Municipal Auditorium. Moore, the world's featherweight champion, tossed his heavy leather at the fleet Nava throughout the match but only in the late rounds was he able to catch up with his retreating foe. Nava, from Mexico City, displayed a big lump over the knuckles on his left hand after the bout. He claimed that he suffered the injury in the 3rd round. All three judges gave every round to Moore. There were no knockdowns." -The San Antonio Express
