Marshall had a slight lead in the bout, when it was stopped due to cuts over both of his eyes. Marshall used lots of foul tactics in this bout, such as elbows, thumbing, and shoulder butting.
Marshall's performance was much better than his first bout with Garcia, where he had fought competively, but had been knocked down several times.
