Bout Summary
- After a close exchange in the 9th round, Lerio fell on the canvass in a sitting position in the center of the ring from a hard left hook to the side of his body. The referee apparently did not see the punch and thinking it was a slip, encouraged Lerio to get up. When Lerio could not get up the referee began to count. At this point Lerio's corner threw in the towel forcing the referee to waive his hands resulting in a TKO win for Olisa.
- Longtime boxing man and TV analyst Moy Lainez revealed that it was actually a head-butt that decked Lerio as clearly shown in TV replays of "In This Corner". Lainez said referee Ver Abainza apparently didn't see the head-butt and awarded Olisa a TKO win.
