"Art Aragon, knocked down for an eight-count in the 3rd round and beaten most of the first six, came back strong to win a unanimous 10 round decision over Don Jordan before a turn-away-crowd of 10,000 at the Olympic Auditorium last night. The 21 year old Jordan, the state lightweight champion, held the upper hand at the outset and it looked like curtains for the Golden Boy when a straight left and a rocking right decked him in the 3rd round. Aragon was badly hurt but got up and managed to back into the ropes. The over-anxious youngster missed his opportunity and Aragon was carrying the fight back before the bell sounded. Aragon, 28, and with more than three times as many fights as Jordan, reversed the whole picture by coming back strong in the fight. He put Jordan on the run and went on to win the final four rounds." -Associated Press
