- In the 1st round, Gagante managed to hurt Sermona by a wallop to the right side of the head causing Sermona to nearly hit the canvas. Sermona managed to hurt Gagante late in the 7th by a hard punch to the stomach. It was followed up by more solid body shots but Gagante got saved by the bell.
