Bout Summary
Mitchell maintained distance well and peppered Bottiglieri with a jab throughout. As Bottiglieri tried to get in close, often lunging in to do so, Mitchell fired stiff right hands and hooks to the body or simply moved away and continued pumping the jab. By the 3rd Round, Bottiglieri, who did land some decent shots of his own, appeared frustrated with his inability to land consistently against Mitchell's good bobbing and weaving movement and often threw wildly with lunging, off-balance shots that found nothing but air. An entertaining 5th Round saw both fighters throwing and landing as the round concluded. Near the 1:00 mark of Round 8, a right hook buckled the knees of Bottiglieri. A followup barrage highlighted by a pair of body shots sent Bottiglieri down at 1:11. He made it to his feet at the count of seven and action continued. Following the knockdown, Mitchell came forward throwing and landing with power shots. With Bottilieri backed into a corner, on the defensive and taking punches, the referee waved an end to the bout.
