• Bates withstood some big shots from Solis before falling against the ropes. At this, the referee stepping in a began a count as Bates went down to a knee. As it appeared that the referee might stop the fight rather than rule a knockdown, a member of Solis's corner came into the ring. Realizing that only a knockdown was ruled, he quickly exited and the fight continued. A few seconds and three Solis punches later, the referee stepped in and waved an end to the bout.
