"Masao Ohba of Japan scored a unanimous decision over Filipino challenger Fernando Cabanela Saturday night, retaining his WBA flyweight crown. In the 6th round, the challenger started rushing with power-packed left and right blows, catching up with Ohba on points again. By the 10th round, it appeared Cabanela had no chance to win unless he scored a knockout. The 11th and 12th were Ohba's, with the champion landing to Cabanela's face and body. But Cabanela, while not throwing as many punches, refused to back off. Both fighters exchanged speedy, hard blows in the remaining rounds." -Associated Press
