Bout Summary
The first two rounds were characterized by lots of feeling-out jabs; one could argue that Banks won both rounds for ring generalship (as there was little in the way of power displayed). However, in round three, Miranda got Banks to commit to blocking a left jab in a way that left his left jaw and ear exposed; at that point, Miranda viciously knocked out Banks with a perfect right hand that catapulted Banks through the bottom two ring ropes. ESPN commentator Joe Tessitore declared it to be the early frontrunner for knockout of the year.
