Bout Summary
Casamayor started great, when he put Katsidis twice on the canvas in the first round with straight left hands, and seemingly outboxed the Australian in the second round. Althought Casamayor appeared to have the fight in control, Katsidis fought better in the third. In the fourth, Katsidis wobbled the Cuban with a right-left combination. Katsidis also appeared to win the fifth round. With a little more than a half minute to go in the sixth round, Katsidis hurt Casamayor with a left hook to the body. He followed up with a left and a right to the head, which sent Casamayor through the ropes; the Cuban managed to survive the round though. Katsidis had two another good rounds, until Casamayor came back with good blows in the 9th, recieving a point deduction for a low blow, however. Early in the 10th, Katsidis ran towards Casamayor, but the ring veteran put a left haymaker on Katsidis' chin, which sent Katsidis down for the third time. Katsidis was quickly back on his feet, but seemed to be unable to defend himself against further punches by Casamayor, leading referee Jon Schorle to step in and stop the fight.
