- Onolunose came forward and picked his spots with hard punches while Desjardins boxed and moved.
- In round 2, Desjardins was knocked off balance into the ropes by a left hand, which was scored as a knockdown. Desjardins was knocked down again in the round by a right hand, and given a count for a third time after the ropes held him up from a Onolunose left hook.
- In round 6, Desjardins was dropped by an overhand right. At this point Desjardins' left eye was beginning to swell, and he also had to deal with a cut near the eye.
- The fight was stopped in between rounds 6 and 7, but officially declared a TKO at the beginning of round 7.
