- In a rare bout between the children of two former world champions, after five close rounds, Carlos DeLeon Jr. scored a mild upset when he came off the deck in round six to stop previously undefeated James McGirt Jr. in the seventh by way of two knockdowns from rights to the head. The referee stopped it after the second knockdown, without giving a count. McGirt also suffered a cut under the right eye in round five.
