Additional information--Fargo Forum: "Jackie Nichols of St. Paul outpointed Billy Petrolle of Jamestown in a 10 round go here tonight...Sport fans gave the Dilworth, Minn. lad the first round and handed Nichols the other nine rounds. Petrolle was groggy toward the end of the fight." Fargo Daily Courier-News: "Jackie Nichols of St. Paul and Billy Petrolle of Jamestown fought 10 rounds to a draw here tonight. Both fighters were game and the bout was a battle from start to finish." In light of conflicting reports the determination of the outcome should probably await review of the Valley City newspapers. Fargo Forum: "About 450 spectators watched the fight. It was a cold night and the spectators were chilled to the bone." Note to Ric: this is the correct date of the fight. UPDATE: The Valley City Daily Times-Record reported the bout as a draw.
