Middleweight Bryan Pappas of Yonkers, 'the fighting policeman', won his sixth straight bout with a three round stoppage of Mike Terry of Paris, Arkansas. Pappas had a height and reach advantage, and jabbed well from the start, building a points lead and also landing alot of power punches on Terry, who threw alot of punches but whose punches lacked any power. Terry, who was leading with his head, got hit too much. Nonetheless he threw everything he had in the second round and punched himself out. In round three, two vicious straight right hands from Pappas sent the exhausted Terry reeling off the ropes out on his feet, forcing a stoppage to this contest.
