"It doesn't seem as if anything will check the rise of Peter Kane, 19-year-old British blacksmith, in his quest for pugilistic fame. In knocking out Jimmy Warnock, Irish flyweight leader, in four rounds, Kane turned in quite a feat. Warnock holds two decisions over Benny Lynch, the present flyweight champion of the world. Kane scored knockdowns in the 1st, 2nd, three in the 3rd, and finally finished Warnock in the 4th. The show, staged by Johnny Best in Liverpool, attracted 35,000 people with thousands turned away." -Ring Magazine, November 1937 issue
