John Mackey 159 lbs lost to Joshua Snyder 159 lbs by MD in round 4 of 4

Bout Summary

Both men exchanged vicious shots in the first round and it continued in round two. A hard left from Mackey drove Snyder to the ropes clearly hurt. Mackey followed, landing to the head and body while Snyder countered and rolled to clear his head. With his back against the ropes, he landed a right high on the head of Mackey, then a right uppercut, and finally another short right that jerked Mackey’s head backwards and sent him toppling forward in the ropes for a scored knockdown. Mackey came out for round three aggressive before turning counter puncher. This time it was he who was forced to fight off the ropes, countering with sliding lefts from his southpaw stance. In the closing seconds, he had turned Snyder around, throwing shots at a target rolling back and forth. Despite the second round knockdown, Mackey appeared on his way to victory through the first two minutes of the fourth and final round, outlanding Snyder in continuous exchanges. With about a minute to go, Snyder stunned Mackey and then landing a right uppercut that shook and then dropped Mackey for the second time. Mackey leapt immediately into the fray, letting loose with everything he had in an attempt to at least drop, if not stop, Snyder. A left along the ropes appeared to hurt Snyder only for Snyder to plant his feet and fire back. The seconds ticked down and, with victory so close at hand, Snyder was not to be denied. He stayed on his feet and was victorious by majority decision on scores of an odd 38-38 and 39-37 twice.
